Before we offer it for sale, our reclaimed Fomblin is put through an eight step process:
Incoming fluid undergoes an analytical evaluation.
Gross contaminants are removed. (i.e., water, hydrocarbons, and particulates)
Dissolved, miscible, or entrained contaminants are removed.
Acids are neutralized.
Color and odor are eliminated.
The oil undergoes vacuum degassing, vacuum distillation, and ultra-pure filtration.
Distillation to separate different grades into the proper viscosities is performed.
Confirmation of purity and specification by analysis is conducted. If product does not meet new Fomblin specifications, it is run through the entire process again.
The resultant fluid is packaged in new CVT containers.
Disposal of all contaminants is done in an EPA approved manner.
